So excited to announce that I have been awarded the Altos de Chavon Teaching Residency by the New York Academy of Art! They’re sending me to the Dominican Republic (La Romana) this August where I will get to teach a History of Painting Techniques & Contemporary Art course.
I have a video piece in the group show We’re Coming To Freak You Out which opens in Wroclow, Poland at Galeria Sztuki Współczesnej MD_S tnite! Pleased to be showing with a group of very talented international artists and friends: Klaus Katsu Jan Pötter Weronika Skonieczna Kihyun Park Marco Ugolini Florian Rosier Florian Rosier from Leipzig, Germany, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Wroclaw, Poland & Seoul, Korea. Wish I could be there.
My Mum and brother Eli came to support me, which really meant a lot. We had an amazing evening, and I want to thank everyone at the museum for being so kind and encouraging to me. Means a lot.
My painting Altar will hang in The Last Brucennial (Bruce High Quality Foundation) opening Thursday, March 6th, 6-10pm at 837 Washington St., NY, NY. Show hangs until April 4th.
VERY thrilled to be writing another article for the Brooklyn Rail. Upcoming will be my book review of the title Berlin Wonderland:Wild Years Revisited 1990-1996 written by authors A. Fesel and C. Keller. Release date is May 15, 2014.
My essay on hope and painting are now up on Edelman PR’s blog along with the other winners in their national storytelling contest, Your Storied Future. So exciting and I am very honored that they selected my work to showcase.
This May, I will have two paintings hanging for several weeks in the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT in two seperate art auctions, one piece will be in the Mini-Masterpieces Auction, the other piece,titled “Melody of Solitude” will be featured in their Spring Gala Auction!! I cannot wait.
The exhibition Serendipitous Synergy: Art Collaboration in Kamakura opens today in Kanagawa, Japan at the Kamakura Performing Arts Center (鎌倉芸術館) My painting A Song For Us is hanging. If you happen to be near Tokyo, check it out!
